An update to the classic JANES shoe – perfect for warmer weather – Open-Toe JANES! These Liberty Jane shoes are designed to fit the 18 inch doll foot and will fit dolls such as American Girl®, Tonner My Imagination™, Our Generation, Springfield, and Madame Alexander. Inspired by the popular wrap shoes seen from brands like TOMS® and BOBS®, Alpargata style shoes are all the rage! The pattern is designed to use woven cotton fabrics, works with stripes, florals, polka dots, thin corduroy and much more.

These darling little shoes are simple to sew and just take a bit of patience to construct, but once you ve put your first pair together, you ll breeze right through the assembly for your next pair.

Pre-cut soles are available for use with this PDF shoe pattern in the Pixie Pack SHAPE 1 pre-cut soles (2mm: White, Black, Color 1 or Color 2). 

Recommended Fabrics – 100% Woven Cotton, Corduroy, and Linen. 1 4 Middy Braid or other flat braided trim is used to give them that authentic look!

Supplies Needed:
-1 8 yard shoe fabric
-4 x 4 piece of cotton fabric for insoles
-12 piece of 1 4 – 3 8 ribbon or twill tape (for heel pull)
-2”piece 1 2” wide knit elastic
-Chipboard for soles (Pre-cut SHAPE 1 available on Pixie Faire)
-2mm foam sheet for soles (Pre- cut SHAPE 1 available on Pixie Faire)
-18” piece 1 4” or 3 8” flat trim to wrap soles (Middy Braid, Hemp, Jute, Elastic, etc.)
-Hot glue & glue gun 

 

Skill Level:  Intermediate (but note if using a hot glue gun adult supervision is recommended).
