Description

Painting can be messy, and your doll will want to protect his or her clothing with this cute artist smock by JenAshley Doll Designs. The smock has a fully lined yoke with a gathered skirt section attached to the yoke. The long sleeves have casings at the bottom in which elastic is inserted. Two huge pockets on the skirt section can hold your doll s paint brushes and other painting equipment.
The confident beginner will have the opportunity to learn such skills as easing in sleeves (flat construction), lining a yoke, etc. via the step-by-step instructions and photos included in the guidebook. This PDF sewing pattern is designed to fit 18 inch dolls such as American Girl.

Recommended Fabrics:  Woven fabric such as Kona cotton, broadcloth, and quilters cotton

Supplies Needed:
-1 3 yard woven fabric such as quilting cotton and Kona cotton (1 2 yard if using same fabric for lining)
-6 inch long X 20 inch wide rectangle of fabric for lining and optional pocket trim
-6 mini buttons
-7 1 2 inch strips of 3 8 inch-1 2 inch wide hook and loop tape (one rough strip and one soft strip)
-Matching or contrasting thread
-8 inches of 1 4 inch wide elastic for sleeves.  

Optional Materials:
-Steam-a-Seam or similar product
-Fun buttons (to use in place of mini buttons)
-Snaps (to use in place of hook and loop tape)
-Mini art themed machine embroidery designs or patches to stitch onto smock
