The flirty ruffles and lace inset give this charming dropped waist dress just the right amount of feminine flair. Princess seams highlight the inset design with gentle curves in the front and clean lines in the back. The dress is fully lined for an easily sewn neckline and finished off with armscye binding eliminating turning through the narrow shoulders! A button and loop closure at back adds another pretty detail.
Suggested fabrics: challis, rayon blends, cotton voile, batiste, or other soft, lightweight fabrics. Lace for Inset. Rayon challis was used in both cover examples. Fabric and lace were both originally white, dyed with liquid RIT dye to create custom fabrics with an exact match. *1 2 yard is needed to cut bias ruffles. If using lace trim or straight grain ruffles, only 1 4 yard fabric is needed.
The Liberty Jane® Outback Libby: Kimberley Tank Dress PDF Pattern is designed to fit an 18 inch doll, such as American Girl® or Tonner My Imagination.
Supplies Needed:
- 1 4- 1 2 yard of lightweight fashion fabric
- 1 4 yard lining fabric
- One 1 4 button
- 1 of 1 8 wide elastic
- Thread
- Iron
- Optional – rotary cutter for ruffles
Skill Level: Intermediate, You will need a basic understanding of how to use a sewing machine and be familiar with sewing straight seams. Dress design features curved princess seams and clearly teaches shows the technique. Armscye binding is also taught with full-color step by step pictures. This is a great technique to add to your skillset!
What You Get: One 27 page sewing pattern that you digitally download as a PDF file so you can start your project immediately! The PDF sewing pattern provides full color step-by-step illustrated instructions and full-size pattern pieces. This pattern includes a 3 page Summary of Instructions section so you can print out just the text version if desired to save on printer ink!
