It features a deep, v-seamed bodice, asymmetrical shoulder strap (with optional train), and a very full skirt. In short, it is the perfect gown to wear while dancing the night away. This PDF sewing pattern is designed to fit 18 inch dolls such as American Girl®.

Recommended Fabrics: taffeta, silk dupioni, or heavy satin would work well for the body of this dress – any fabric with a crisp hand and some “crunch” that will hold itself out when gathered. Use an optional underlining “backing” fabric to help stabilize the bodice (try several combinations: light underlining with heavy fabric, heavier backing with lighter fabric. Cotton muslin, batiste, and flannel are all good choices). For the lining, any lightweight poly or silk fabric will do; use a soft chiffon for the optional shoulder drape
